Con la ASUS Maximus XI HERO Wi-Fi Call of Duty Edition, Intel sta sostituendo il chipset Z370 per i suoi processori high-end di ottava generazione. Inoltre, le schede madri Z390 supportano i processori Intel Core di nona generazione (Coffee Lake-S Refresh).
Le caratteristiche dell'ASUS Maximus XI HERO Wi-Fi CE includono il design accattivante del radiatore e l'illuminazione a LED RGB digitale integrata. Inoltre, la scheda madre dispone di un modulo WLAN con 802.11ac standard incluso Bluetooth 5.0 e il chipset audio di alta qualità ESS ES9023P. Le antenne per WLAN e un bridge SLI sono incluse con la scheda madre. Per gli appassionati di Call of Duty c'è una chiave deluxe per Black Ops 4 inclusa.
